Bill Maher: The Vaccine Choice Atheist

“And The Sheep Not Applauding”

“I don’t trust the manufacturers of children’s products whether it’s pharmaceuticals or baby food. And I worry a lot about new vaccine laws, which have taken the decision about vaccines away from parents, initially gave it to me, and now there is going to be a government committee in California deciding whether or not you medically qualify for a vaccine exemption. And those laws are going to spread across the United States unless we slow them down.” Dr. Jay Gordon on Real Time with Bill Maher

November 3, 2019 — Bill Maher had Dr. Jay Gordon on his show raising very valid concerns about vaccines and their potential to cause injury. Maher is no stranger to taking the moderate – yet still somehow controversial position – that people should not blindly trust Big Pharma when it comes to vaccination. Dr. Jay Gordon is a doctor who believes in utilizing vaccines but not precisely as the CDC recommends as a one-size-fits-all model for everyone. Again this moderate position is somehow viewed as controversial.

I so greatly respect Maher for continuing to speak his truth on this issue. People such as myself who are Vaccine Choice (and Religious Freedom) advocates are often told we are closet right-wing Republican Trump supporters. That ain’t all of us. It sure ain’t Bill Maher, who is happy as a clam reporting on Trump’s impeachment and is extremely left-wing. Nor is it Dave Rudnick, a vaccine injured marine who is running for Congress as a Democrat (just to name a few). Personally I do make alliances with Trump supporters because they are far more educated on the issue of Vaccine Choice and Health Freedom than most Democrats. I would love to see Trump lose the 2020 election, but not to someone that then forces me and my kids to roll up our sleeves for every product Big Pharma wants to jab in us!

People like me also get labeled as crazy holy rollers who believe in ancient books over science. That, too, ain’t all of us. And when I respond to people who say such things with science that refutes their claims, they then say, “You see! You don’t have a sincere religious objection to vaccination. You are lying!”

Is it impossible for both science and God to be on the same side of this issue?

Of course it’s not impossible!

Bill Maher is a self-proclaimed atheist. He even made an entire movie about what a hardcore atheist he is, and still he can clearly see that something ain’t right in the world of Big Pharma when it comes to vaccines. When Maher had Dr. Jay Gordon join his panel of guests he asked them all what everyone thought about heavy metals being found in 95% of baby food products.

Dr. Gordon replied, “I tell people to please make their own baby food. I don’t trust the manufacturers of children’s products whether it’s pharmaceuticals or baby food. And I worry a lot about new vaccine laws, which have taken the decision about vaccines away from parents, initially gave it to me (doctors), and now there is going to be a government committee in California deciding whether or not you medically qualify for a vaccine exemption. And those laws are going to spread across the United States unless we slow them down.”

There were scattered applause to this statement, to which Bill Maher said, “And the sheep not applauding, OK!”

Maher showed his clear support for parental choice and exemptions (including the religious exemption to vaccination) with his sarcastic comment meant to insult certain members of his audience. You don’t have to be religious to support people’s rights to be religious. You don’t have to be an atheist to be skeptical about big corporations manipulating science to make money.

God bless Atheist Bill Maher!
